*Nagado Daiko are the most popular type of Taiko Drums.

Used by modern groups their bodies have a barrel shaped appearance, with a maximum diameter about equal to the head to head length of the drum.

*Ko Daiko are the smaller members of this family of drums. Their diameter of drumhead is from 1- 1 1/2 shakuto. A shakuto is 1 ft long.
